Wednesday Shelf Control is a bookish meme hosted by Bookshelf Fantasies on a weekly basis.
Hola world! /how about I will greet you in different languages?/
I ended up buying too many books this month. AGAIN.
Well, that’s who bookworms are, right?
But we’re here today to take out books that’ve been on our shelves for way too long, right? So let’s get to it!
Today’s featuring book is…
The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern
How I got it:
I bought a physical copy of Vietnamese version at local bookstore.
When I got it:
Around second half of 2016.
Why I want to read it:
Fantasy, circus, miracles? Yup, that’s my kind of thing! Plus the cover looks so stunning, I wanna hug it constantly. The problem with me finally getting to this book is actually language barrier. I mean, I know Vietnamese, but I’m still struggling very hard with reading fiction in Vietnamese. Law documents go just fine because I’m used to them while working as a translator, but I still never managed to properly read even one book in Vietnamese. And since this book is thick (like, really thick), I guess I still have to go with Russian or English versions first.
Have you read The Night Circus? What do you think of it? I’m somehow sure that I will love this book, maybe even a little bit more than Caraval by Stephanie Garber, but in your opinion, will I actually love it? I’m a huge fantasy lover /well, except much for epic ones, didn’t get to them yet/, you know that 🙂
See you in another blog post!
I wanted to read this when I first saw it was coming out, but now I’ve waited so long that I don’t know if I am still invested.

I’m still slightly hesitating, but it’s more like… 70 to 30 of want to vs not really

Oh. That’s a surprise. Looks like I should be careful with my expectations on this book.

I’m actually re-reading this at the moment for my book club. Honestly, I enjoyed it when I first read it, until I reached the ending, which I found highly disappointing. I’m hoping I’ll enjoy it more this time around.
