Tag Thursday: Rapid Fire Book Tag

tag-thursday

It’s been quite a long time since I’ve done a Tag Thursday, and since I haven’t been tagged by anyone particularly, I just picked a Tag I wanted to do out of those I’ve seen 😉

Also I will change my policy towards tagging, as I won’t pick people to do tags anymore, thus giving you all the choice of either getting yourself tagged, or ignoring completely. Because it’s really hard to keep a track of people you already tagged at previous memes.

So, let’s get onto this tag I picked from Beth @Reading Every Night!

Rapid Fire Book Tag

eBook or Physical Book?

Physical books all the way. Although I really like how eBooks are convenient to carry when you are, for instance, traveling, but I’m still for physicals, because it doesn’t give me a headache like sometimes my Kindle give.

Paperback or Hardback?

Ohhh, I like both, but the special feeling of holding a hardcover is irreplaceable.

Online or In-Store Book Shopping?

In-store. When I go to the bookstore, I can pick any book with an interesting blurb, open at random page and read a little bit to consider whether it compliments the blurb, or I shouldn’t waste my money on something not very promising.

Trilogies or Series?

No matter how much I love Harry Potter series, but trilogies for me. Just enough information to endure and adjust. But if the trilogy is not enough to understand the whole world going on in the book, then I’m all in for series.

Heroes or Villains?

How about both?

A Book You Want Everyone to Read?

My opinion won’t change until everyone will talk about this book:

master_i_margarita

The Master and Margarita by Mikhail Bulgakov

Recommend an Underrated Book?

Just pick any Russian classics, except for War and Peace, Anna Karenina, or basically exclude everything Lev Tolstoy.

The Last Book You Finished?

A Court of Mist and Fury by Sarah J. Maas. Expect lots of crying soon.

The Last Book You Bought?

Newest edition of Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find them by J.K. Rowling a.k.a. Newt Scamander 😀

Weirdest Thing You’ve Used as a Bookmark?

My cat? 😀

Used Books: Yes or No?

I’d rather say no than yes, but if that’s book that is hard to find in “new” condition, then I can go with used, only if it’s not falling apart, of course.

Top Three Favourite Genres?

Magical realism. Urban Fantasy. YA fantasy.

Borrow or Buy?

Buy, definitely buy.

Characters or Plot?

Plot. Although, of course, both things are very important.

Long or Short Books?

Middle length. It really depends on what you mean by long and short. Short can be 150 pages, and also can be 300 pages.

Long or Short Chapters?

Short. Handy when you read at night time, and suddenly you want to sleep.

Name the First Three Books You Think of…

Wintersong by S. Jae-Jones
A Court of Wings and Ruin by Sarah J. Maas
Caraval by Stephanie Garber

Books that Make You Laugh or Cry?

I’d prefer cry. I need those emoooootions.

Our World or Fictional Worlds?

Fictional, of course. You think why I’m so fond of fantasy genre?

Audiobooks: Yes or No?

No. Although I somehow managed to listen to Stars Above by Marissa Meyer.

Do You Ever Judge a Book by its Cover?

Yes.

Book to Movie or Book to TV Adaptations?

TV Adaptations.

A Movie or TV-Show You Preferred to its Book?

Stardust movie to Stardust book by Neil Gaiman

stardust_promo_poster

Series or Standalones?

Series. I always need MOAR. Especially if the world is so awesome one book is not enough to feature it all.

  1. Great answers for this tag! I definitely agree with you on in store book shopping over online, which is funny because I used to be the opposite, and how did you manage to use your cat as a bookmark?! I feel like there’s a story there, and probably an interesting one as well! 🙂
I am so so excited for ACOWAR, I can’t believe we don’t have too much longer to wait until it’s released, it feels almost unreal, and oh I loved the Stardust movie as well. In fact I think I’m going to go and watch it right now! 😀
Again great answers, I loved reading them! 🙂

    1. Thanks Beth! About the story with my cat, it’s really simple: one of Carswell Thorne’s hobby is to disturb me whenever I’m focused on something, be it crafting something or simply reading! So that one day when I was lying on the bed reading a book, he came and lied right on the open pages, and so I took a short break to have some snacks and instagram surfing time 😂😂😂

I literally can’t wait for ACOWAR anymore! 😭

Ohhh, I think I should re-watch Stardust as well sometime soon.

      Again, thanks!

      1. That’s all right, and oh that’s quite a cute story. Also I love that your cat is called Carswell Thorne! Such a great name. 😀
Not too much longer, that’s what I’m telling myself pretty much constantly. Soon we’ll have it in our hands.
        That’s all right! 🙂

  2. I like shopping in-store too but I’ve sadly come to realize that books are much cheaper online and that the bookstores don’t always carry want I want. 😦 I want to support bookstores but it sometimes seems they like aren’t making it easy on me!

    1. I know what you mean! It’s really much easier to do online shopping, because I’ve faced situations when I had to go to every single bookstore of _the_same_ franchise to get a specific book! Driving all around the city to find books is so hard, and the bad thing is we don’t have any kind of the HUGE bookstore. By huge I mean, the size of, let’s say for instance, the same Kinokuniya I saw in Singapore!
