Top Ten Tuesday: Top Ten Series I’ve Been Meaning To Start But Haven’t

top-ten-tuesday

Top Ten Tuesday is a bookish meme hosted by The Broke and the Bookish on a weekly basis.

Hi!

Finally I’ve recovered myself after being on such an emotional roller coaster caused by the final episode of Produce 101 Season 2, on which I will talk a bit in Wednesday K-pop! segment (anyways the main characters of tomorrow’s episode are related to this show), but now let’s have a regular Top Ten Tuesday while I’m still on an inspirational roll to write everything and not be carried away by re-watching all P101 videos lol

Top Ten Series I’ve Been Meaning to Start But Haven’t

Well, to begin with, I don’t think I have too many series I want to start. Since I don’t have that strong preferences towards series or standalones (I’m super okay with either formats), I don’t think that it really matters much to me. Okay, what did I just say lol

In no particular order, of course!

Watch series by Sergey Lukyanenko.

This book series is a Russian urban fantasy classics, featuring dark forces, vampires, other creatures, and whatever else your hunger for dark fantasy can wish for. The first two book got their blockbuster movies, and the whole Watch universe expanded to many side stories written by various authors aside the main creator Sergey Lukyanenko. All six main story books are available in English, so I think you can check them out!

Lord of the Rings series by J.R.R. Tolkien

Yes, people, you’re not blind. I haven’t read this series yet. Reasons? Because at the time of LotR’s peak in Russia (which is probably the period of movie premiers) I was focused on Harry Potter.

Queen of Hearts saga by Colleen Oakes

Why I haven’t read this? Because I’m waiting for the third book to come out first, and then I can immerse myself in the world of Dark Wonderland. Yep, sounds like a really good plan.

Zodiac series by Romina Russell

Also waiting for Thirteen Rising to officially come out, so I can dig myself into something I love so much, that is a mix of sci-fi + fantasy + astrology.

Throne of Glass series by Sarah J. Maas

I’ve been recommended to this book series by both international and Russian bookworms, and I’ve already purchased the first four books available in Russian, so I hope one day I’ll get to read this haha

Shaman King (manga) by Hiroyuki Takei

Is it okay to include mangas in this list? /hesitant/

I loved Shaman King anime. And I have only one reason why I haven’t read the original manga. One of the canon pairings in this manga involves my ever ultimate fictional character crush, and that combination put me off so hard I resisted picking up the story and kept going back to the anime version. /me so delusional lol/ Hahahahahahahahaa Now go guess that character that I still adore and love so much, even though the initial hype over him had faded.

Timeless (The Ruby Red) trilogy by Kerstin Gier

Been on my shelves for 2 years, I think? I got hooked by titles, covers and blurb, and I still didn’t manage to read it lol What so wrong with me ppl

separator

Grisha trilogy by Leigh Bardugo

Everything Russia involved recently goes to my TBR list automatically, and I have below zero regrets on that. Question is, when will I have time to read all of this…

Sailor Moon (manga) by Naoko Takeuchi

Okay, probably it’s fine to include some mangas onto this list, because I actually have some manga series I really wanna read but literally am unable because I hate reading from laptop screens. Bring me the physical copies!
Anyways. Sailor Moon was my first ever anime I’ve watched, and the fact that I still didn’t even touch the original manga also surprises me THIS MUCH.

The Maze Runner series by James Dashner

I’m still interested in this, although I saw various different opinions on book series. At least for me this sounds way more luring and interesting than Divergent series. So I guess one day I will pick it up as well. The key moment would be reading the first book. 🙂

Yaaaay, I’ve completed this prompt! See, I told you I don’t really follow up with book updates, and especially I don’t really pay much attention on whether the books on my TBR are standalones or part of a series. But I still managed to list you some of my picks (although I feel like I cheated a little bit by including 2 mangas…), hope you still like my picks! And…

Is anybody interested in me talking about some of my favorite manga/anime series? Cause I have in on my blog post ideas, but I’m not really sure if you’re all interested 🙂

Thanks!
